Our group of 21 CAI members and friends gathered at the Chinook Pass trail head for hiking the Naches Pass Loop.  We had come from Tipsoo Lake which was clouded and misty.  Since our weather had been hot and in the 80’s, we hoped the temperature would be cooler for us.  It was!  But, it was also cloudy.  So cloudy, in fact, that we never got to see the glorious view of Mount Rainier as we descended from the crest.  Those of us who’ve been there before imagined the view.  The first-timers on the hike will need to return on a clear day to see what was hidden from view!  Luckily, as we got on the trail, the misting stopped, so hiking was pleasant.  After reaching the parking lot, we had refreshments and time for more visiting.  Maybe next time our hike there will be cool and clear!
